28th Wells Family Reunion

June 17-19, 2011

Prairie du Chien, WI

The family gathered in the meeting room of the Duck Inn Lodge and the meeting was called to order by president, Phil Wells. Phil thanked Diane & Mike Knoske and Chrissy and Keith Knoske for finding the location and providing the wonderful food.

·         Family statistics were gathered:

o        Youngest: Landon Jay Taylor (11weeks)

o        Oldest:  Vern Wells (68yrs)

o        Person who traveled the furthest to the reunion: Vern Wells with 1,295 miles

o        Person who traveled the shortest distance to the reunion: Daryl Wells

o        Person who took the longest to get to the reunion: Scot Wells (stopped in Marble Rock for a few days)

o        Person who broke down the most: Dave Wells’ brakes locked up

o        Person who got lost the most: Doren and Suzanna Wells

 

·         Births:

o        Emma Joe Martin (granddaughter of Nancy) born August 24, 2010

o        Landon Jay Taylor (granddaughter of Karolyn) born 4/4/11

 

·         Anniversaries: Nancy and Richard Morgan will celebrate 40 yrs.

 

Larry motioned to add “lost the most” category, Vern second the motion

·         Awards

o        Royal Order of the Purple Shaft was presented to Diane Knoske by Nancy Morgan

o        Two Host Appreciation award were given, one to Phil Wells and the other to Diane and Mike Knoske. Another award will be made for Chrissy and Keith Knoske.

 

Phil entertained us by singing two songs. He did a fantastic job! Thanks for sharing your talent…

 

Vern offered a moment of silence for our parents who are no longer with us.

 

Phil led us in singing the Wells Family Song

 

·         Election of officers and new positions:

o        Phil Wells was voted President

o        Nancy Morgan was voted Vice President

o        Suzie Malanyaon was voted secretary

 

o        Mike was voted as photographer. The photographer’s responsibility is to take Wells Family group picture as well as individual family pictures and send them to Diane. Diane Knoske will continue to collect pictures from everyone and put them into albums.

 

·         The 29th Wells Reunion 2013

o        We will return to the Duck Inn Lodge, Prairie du Chien, WI  for the 2013 Wells reunion.

o        The reunion will be held June 21-23.

o        Diane Knoske was nominated as the coordinator of meals and lodging for the next reunion.  Thanks for accepting this position!

 

·         Financial Report

o        The lodge rental was $550

o        Each person who attended paid $10 for the lodge and $5 for food.

o        About 65 people were in attendance
